PRESERVING THE ART OF SEWING BEFORE IT SLIPS THROUGH OUR FINGERS.
Pep Gally Academy exists to preserve and advance the art of sewing through hands-on classes and fashion education for all ages, led by working designers. We teach sewing fundamentals, garment construction, pattern making, draping, textile knowledge, and fashion design, giving students the technical skills and confidence to create complete garments and bring their ideas to life with purpose.
Our students learn by doing from their very first class, designing, sewing, and completing garments while building discipline, creativity, and a strong foundation for college programs, creative careers, and entrepreneurship. Through small-group instruction and real-world experience, we are not just teaching sewing, we are equipping the next generation with lifelong skills and the confidence to turn creativity into passion, purpose, and opportunity.
ACADEMY CLASSESOur Academy Classes include 4 classes, each 3 hours long with a total of 12 instructional hours. Each class is limited to 6 students allowing for focused instruction and meaningful growth.

Perfect for beginners, kids, teens, and adults, Sewing 101 provides a strong foundation in practical sewing skills and creative expression.
No experience needed. Students start creating from day one.
Sewing 101 is a hands-on beginner sewing class designed to teach students the fundamentals of sewing, garment construction, and fashion design. In this 4-week course, students learn essential skills including measuring, cutting fabric, sewing machine operation, hand sewing techniques, and basic pattern work.
Students gain experience with straight stitching, serging (overlock), seam finishing, zippers, snaps, and closures, while building a professional sewing portfolio. The course also introduces fashion sketching, textile knowledge, and design basics, helping students develop both technical skills and creative confidence.
By the end of the course, students will have completed multiple sewing samples and foundational projects, equipping them with the skills needed to continue into advanced sewing and fashion design classes.

(Pre-Requisite: Sewing 101)
Sewing 102 builds on foundational skills with a focus on beginner sewing techniques, garment construction, and pattern work. In this hands-on course, students advance their abilities in machine sewing, seam finishes, closures, and fabric manipulation, while gaining deeper confidence in the design process.
Students learn to create buttonholes, sew buttons, construct neck facings, and learn professional seam finishes such as French seams and flat felled seams. The course also introduces pattern tracing, pattern adjustment, alterations, and bodice construction, giving students real experience working from patterns to finished garments.
Through guided instruction, students complete accessories like scrunchies and a finished top, while continuing to build a professional sewing portfolio. Emphasis is placed on precision, fit, and clean finishing techniques used in real-world fashion production.
Sewing 102 strengthens technical skills while moving students closer to understanding garment creation and beginner fashion design.

(Pre-Requisite Sewing 102)
Sewing 103 is structured, skill-driven, and technique-focused. This intermediate four-week series is designed for students who have completed Sewing 101 and 102 and are ready to deepen their garment construction knowledge through professional finishing techniques and pattern development.
Throughout this series, students refine precision and craftsmanship by working in muslin to master technical details before applying them to finished garments. Skills include constructing corners, standard pockets, ruffles, welt pockets, pleats (box, knife, and inverted), invisible zippers, and set-in zippers. Students also complete any remaining garment details from prior coursework to ensure mastery and portfolio readiness.
As the course progresses, students draft and create their own shorts pattern, cut fabric, construct seams, build a structured waistband, insert elastic and ribbon ties, and complete a professional hem finish. When time allows, students expand their skill set by incorporating pocket construction into their final garment.
This series emphasizes technique repetition, garment accuracy, and elevated finishing methods — preparing students for more independent pattern development and advanced design work.
With intentionally small cohorts, each student receives personalized instruction while strengthening confidence, craftsmanship, and technical fluency. Sewing 103 builds upon foundational skills and moves students toward thoughtful, independent garment construction.

Summer at Pep Gally Academy is imaginative, structured, and confidence-building. This week-long kids creative camp introduces young designers (ages 6–11) to beginner sewing skills, fashion design, and hands-on creative projects in a fun and encouraging environment.
Students learn basic hand-sewing techniques, garment measuring, and fabric basics, while exploring fashion illustration, mood boards, color theory, and creative design thinking. Throughout the week, students complete exciting projects including making a stuffed accessory, tie-dye socks, and upcycled fashion pieces, all leading up to a runway show experience.
With small group sizes (limited to 12 students), each child receives personalized guidance while building confidence, teamwork, and independence. Every student leaves with finished projects they created themselves and a strong foundation in sewing and fashion creativity.
All sewing and art supplies are included, making this the perfect introduction to kids sewing classes and summer fashion camps.

“We have had the absolute best experience with this sewing class! In just four weeks, I am honestly amazed at how much my daughter has learned and created. Her confidence has grown so much, and she is genuinely excited to go each time.
Heidi has such a special way of making everything fun, approachable, and encouraging. She creates an environment where the kids feel proud of what they’re making while still learning real skills. It’s clear she truly loves what she does, and it shows in the way she connects with her students.
I couldn’t recommend this class enough—this has been such a positive, inspiring experience for my daughter.“
FALLON (PARENT)
“My daughter has taken sewing with Heidi for several years now, beginning with summer camps and progressing to weekly classes. What started as a fun creative outlet has become something so much bigger. She has learned real, practical sewing skills — from buttonholes and snaps to hook-and-eye closures — and has even made her own clothing. One of the most meaningful parts of this experience has been watching SG begin to see a future for herself in design and creativity. Through Heidi’s classes, she has had opportunities to meet representatives from Savannah College of Art and Design and The University of Alabama, and those conversations have helped her start thinking about what her future could look like and the steps it may take to get there. Heidi is so much more than a sewing teacher. She is encouraging, positive, patient, and truly an incredible role model. She helps her students build confidence, independence, creativity, and vision. We drive almost two hours each week for her to be part of these classes, and it is absolutely worth it. We are so grateful for Heidi and the impact she has had on her life.”
MARY HARMON (PARENT)
“Hi! My name is Mary Elyette and I am 9 years old. Ever since I was a little girl, I have been interested in everything fashion. I wanted to learn to sew like my Grandmothers but they live far away. My Mom doesn’t know how to sew. Mrs. Heidi has given me an opportunity to learn an amazing life skill. I like Pep Gally Academy because it is so exciting. I learn so much and I make great friends. Mrs. Heidi has given me a chance to engage in the lost art of sewing. One of my favorite parts was going to the University of Alabama for the juniors fashion show. Thank you so much Mrs. Heidi for helping me gain proficiency in sewing.”
